LC Waikiki improves retail operations with Microsoft Dynamics

Founded 25 years ago in France, today LC Waikiki is owned by the Turkish company Tema Group. The main company’s activity is manufacturing and trading of the brand LC Waikiki which is among the biggest Apparel and Fashion retailers worldwide now. Today, Tema Group has more than 830 stores in 38 countries and their number is constantly growing.
Situation
In the middle of 2010, Tema Group founded its subsidiary company in Bulgaria – Tema Retail BG Ltd. To ensure an appropriate management of the business processes from POS terminals, through back office and to the head office, Tema Group’s management realized the need of implementing an integrated software solution. Among the requirements were a full control over the processes; an effective management of items, cash flow, adjustments; a flexibility and easy modification according to the company’s needs; easy integration with their warehouse management system; user-friendly interface; data security and so on.
Solution
In July 2010, Tema Group started an implementation project of the ERP system Microsoft Dynamics and LS Retail – a specialized add-on retail solution. Intelligent Systems – the leading partner for Microsoft Dynamics and LS Retail in CEE – was chosen for a partner on this project.
It started with an analysis of the business processes in the front and back office and integration with the Tema Group warehouse management system. The LS Retail functionalities POS management, Back Office, and Head Office have been implemented in less than two months.
All the data from the stores is now being consolidated into a single database. The system manages changes in prices, inventory, special offers, promotions, all of them updated in real time in all the stores. All the transactions and processes are reflected directly in the Microsoft Dynamics modules – Financial management, Sales, Purchases, and Warehouse. The actual exploitation of Microsoft Dynamics and LS Retail started with the opening of the first LC Waikiki store in Varna in September 2010. By the end of the year were opened three more stores in Varna, Bourgas, and Plovdiv also using the integrated platform.
Due to the satisfying results in Bulgaria, the Tema Group’s management decided to integrate all the other stores in the new, unified platform, together with Intelligent Systems.
In December 2010, the first LC Waikiki store in Saraevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina was opened. Using the proven implementation methodology, Microsoft Dynamics and LS Retail platform has been deployed for less than a week. Furthermore, a deployment of the software system was released further in many locations, too. Today, LC Waikiki rely on the Dynamics platform in the head office in Turkey as well as in the company’s stores in nearly 30 countries worldwide.
Pressed by the time and specifics of the Bulgarian market, which was selected to be the pioneer in our global IT project, we had to be fast and sure in what we do. We could not afford a delay in our predefined terms. So we needed both a working software solution and a reliable partner with proven expertise in the field. Only a few months after the deployment of Microsoft Dynamics and LS Retail, the company management can actually see the benefits, provided by the solution. Due to the single architecture, the system manages the data replication from all the stores. The management controls the income and the costs by cost centers, which provide a flexible management of the cash flow. The purchase planning has been improved as well. Due to the integrated BI tools in the system, the users can prepare key management reports, tracking all transactions by cashiers, money counted by them on the POS, etc.
They know our business operations and requirements so well that it only takes up to 15 days to deploy Microsoft Dynamics solution within a new country, and less than 3 days to integrate it within a new store.
