Specialized Conference focused on the modern IT technologies in support of the municipalities in Bulgaria

On 29 November 2012, in Bansko was held a specialized conference “Modern IT technologies in support of the Bulgarian municipalities”. The forum stressed on the challenges that municipalities in Bulgaria face every day and the opportunities they have to solve problems with the help of contemporary IT technologies. The event was a joint initiative between Municipality of Bansko and Intelligent Systems Bulgaria and represented a half-day seminar.

The conference was opened by Mr. Milen Manchev, CRM Sales Lead South Balkans, Microsoft. He welcomed the guests and marked the common topics of the event. Mr. Manchev paid attention to the main difficulties that Bulgarian municipalities meet today and presented IT solutions, designed to address raising problems. The major accent in his speech was the way these solutions ensure transparency, efficiency and flexibility of administrative tasks and processes in organizations and complex economic environment. Mr. Manchev presented some successfully completed projects in similar structures from abroad and demonstrated specialized online portals for handling main responsibilities of administration teams.

Intelligent Systems Bulgaria, the leading Microsoft Dynamics partner in Bulgaria, was represented by its Sales Director Mr. Boyan Martinov. He shared the company’s experience with state institutions and the best practices already implemented in some municipalities in Bulgaria. With real examples, Mr. Martinov put an accent on the modern IT solutions created for local government structures and aimed at optimization of municipality activities and effective management.

Business specialists from Alpha Solutions 7 – a company providing consulting services in the EU funds – acquainted the public of the latest programs in support of the municipalities in the country, and emphasized the ones related to funding of IT initiatives. The experts also shared their experience with successfully completed projects in this area.

An interesting discussion among participants occurred during the event. Many talked about challenges and opportunities in front of the Bulgarian municipalities, ways for optimization of activities and more effective cooperation between people, businesses, and local governments. The topic about the latest technologies in support of the Bulgarian municipalities was debated also during the official dinner following the conference.
