July 28, 2015

The next version of the ERP solution for small and midsize enterprises from Microsoft will be called Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016. The news was announced by the software giant during the 2015 Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC).

Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 (known by the code name “Corfu”) comes with enhanced integration with Office 365, Power BI, Dynamics CRM Online; electronic invoicing, workflow, and functionality improvements.

Microsoft also said it plans to introduce monthly updates and new product releases once a year. There is no exact date on which NAV 2016 will be officially launched on the market, yet. However, this is expected to happen in the last quarter of the current year.

The news regarding the ERP solution for large enterprises and holding structures Microsoft Dynamics AX (codenamed “AX 7” and “Rainier”) is that the presentation of the latest software version will most likely take place this quarter. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2015, as suggested to be the official name of the product, shall include a number of improvements and new features:

  • Multiple deployment options – on-premises, public and private cloud
  • New user interface based on HTML5 technology and following the Windows 8 style. The purpose is to be moved away from the standard, rather boring ERP user experience, and an intuitive, easy to use environment to be provided
  • Best in class Lifecycle Management regardless of the deployment option (on-premises, cloud or hybrid)
