Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 official release date
Microsoft announced October 1, 2012 to be the official release date of the new version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP system. At the same time, a couple of novelties and improvements of the business application came out. These contribute to the reputation of NAV 2013 as being the best and most detailed version of the enterprise resource planning system by now.
Part of the changes comprises all three clients, by which users can access the solution:
- Windows client – with modified design following the Microsoft Office intuitive interface, with enhanced graphic visualization of data and working even faster than before.
- Web Client – compatible with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari. Through it, customers have access to the entire functionality of the system.
- Share Point client – uses hyperlinks to a website or the so called Web Parts, coming directly from a NAV page (no additional pages required). Another useful functionality of this client is its ability to link different Web Parts.
Changes in licensing were also revealed. The new models enable users to work with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 in two different ways – with full or limited access. Both of them use all abovementioned clients, but only the full access gives business users the ability to reach and process ERP system data without restrictions. In contrast, with the limited access one is able to read the entire available information, but to enter data only in 3 tables.
Generation of reports and analysis is also improved. In the new version users can extract even more personalized data fast and easy, choosing the necessary tables, fields, parameters. Standard reports have been revised and underwent the long awaited design alterations.
