The solution will be available April 2 onwards, starting with 14 countries
Last year Microsoft shared their plans to replace Dynamics 365 Business Edition with Dynamics NAV like functionality. Codenamed Microsoft Dynamics 365 “Tenerife”, the project for cloud-based SMB solution created a lot of fuss and anticipation about its capabilities, pricing and of course, official name.
And the wait is over! Last night Microsoft announced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The solution will be available starting April 2 and will feature two primary user levels, Essentials and Premium. The first will cover most of the typical NAV Starter pack functional areas for financial management, simple and advanced inventory, distribution, workflow and contact management, while service management and manufacturing will come with the higher tier Premium license, just like Dynamics NAV Extended pack does.
While the exact specifications and functionalities of Business Central will be released in the coming days, it is certain customers will be able to seamlessly integrate the cloud solution with other key Microsoft products such as Office 365, Power BI, PowerApps and Flow.
“Dynamics 365 Business Central brings the full power of Dynamics NAV to the cloud. As such, Business Central has at its foundation a set of trusted, proven technologies that have served 160,000 customers and millions of users worldwide.” says Alysa Taylor, General Manager, Business Apps & Strategy at Microsoft.
At first, Business Central will be offered in 14 countries – United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Denmark, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Sweden, and Finland, with more coming later this year. Purchase of Business Central however, will be only possible through Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) partners, such as Intelligent Systems. Subscription plans for the US market will start from $70 for Essentials and $100 for Premium users.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central will be the perfect choice for small and mid-sized companies looking to integrate a cloud-based intelligent solution for their business operations.
