Intelligent Systems unifies all business operations of INTERION S.A.

Intelligent Systems streamlined the business processes of the leading chocolate producer and distributor – INTERION S.A., embodied under the brand name NuCrema, thanks to a comprehensive customized solution comprising of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP which was further enhanced through integrations with the mobile platform for WMS operations – Dynamics Mobile and Microsoft Power BI for performance reporting.

In this way, INTERION S.A. unified its business processes and modernized the warehouse operations for improved efficiency in line with its growth strategy. The new solution, implemented by Intelligent Systems, was instrumental for the company to succeed in expanding its sales operations and distribution network while minimizing risks and controlling costs.

The implementation of the Microsoft Dynamics Business Central ERP and the integrations in scope had a major positive impact in several areas, including production process ones:

• In the first place, working in one integrated ERP system has enabled flawless data exchange between the different company departments, increasing staff productivity and allowing for efficient management of human and material resources.

• Warehouse control for inbound and outbound operations and correct tracking of material movements has increased and errors have been reduced with the use of the Dynamics Mobile for WMS platform for mobile operations.

• Modifications to the FEFO method (First expired, first out) and custom minimum remaining expiration date based on individual customer agreements allow for better stock turnover and limiting waste.

• Automated additional cost allocation for manufactured products was developed by Intelligent Systems to assist with improved time efficiency for correct reporting of the production results.

• One of the Intelligent Systems custom apps – EDI integration was deployed to assist with large volume document exchange between suppliers and customers. The app helps companies to set up mappings allowing effortless electronic data exchange of sales and purchases through XML files.

• Last but not least, the custom Power BI reports developed as part of the project improved reporting capabilities and lowered the time for extracting valuable business insights.

INTERION S.A. was established in 2001 with the participation of INTERIA (leading Greek chocolate and other confectionery products manufacturer). The company is based in Kostinbrod, Bulgaria, where it has its headquarters and production facilities. NuCrema and ION variety of chocolate products are quite popular on the Bulgarian and neighboring Balkan markets.
