Dynamics 365 Business Central – what’s the new in the new cloud ERP

Aug 27, 2018

The newest member of the Dynamics 365 family gives the opportunity to run the latest innovations in business software in the cloud.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central brings the full Microsoft Dynamics NAV functionality to the cloud. It is that simple and it’s great. We, as a partner, have been waiting so long for Microsoft to release a strong and reliable cloud version of Dynamics NAV for all those customers that want to really get in the cloud and stop investing thousands of Euros in their own hardware. Here it is, and we are definitely excited. We have been discussing the term “digital transformation” long enough to finally get all those companies “transformed” with the right technology at hand.

What Microsoft points out as Dynamics 365 Business Central main focus is that it is a smart choice for all those companies that have outgrown their accounting systems and need to get on the next level with a PRO software solution that can actually cover their increasing business needs. What I can add here is that Dynamics 365 Business Central is a good fit for even developed businesses which have no ERP in place but are using Microsoft Office 365 suite for example. Dynamics 365 Business Central can be seamlessly integrated with Office 365 so that you can use the ERP system from within Outlook. As the number of applications, we are using in our daily work, has been continuously growing in recent years, this has become an issue as people tend to spend plenty of time switching between applications during their working day.

Another thing that I was kind of “oh-it-was-high-time” when come to know about it, is the Dynamics 365 Business Central mobile app. Microsoft promises to deliver totally new experience for all field workers. While being in the development of our own mobile front-end to Dynamics for many years now and knowing that this is not the first time Microsoft sets such expectations, I would give it a try.

And of course, my personal favorite – embedded Power BI. As I personally find out how easily it is to connect Power BI to Dynamics 365 for Sales (we did it for our internal use some time ago), I am sure it would be a great feature for all Dynamics 365 Business Central potential customers as well as highly appreciated by all current Dynamics NAV users who might want to go deeper with their insights and analytics.

Is Dynamics 365 Business Central right for your business? Most probably. Have a look at its features or experience the free trial. Or just let’s talk.
