Q: Hristo, tell us a bit about yourself and your journey at Isystems?
A: I’ve always been someone who thrives on challenges and new experiences. More than 12 years ago, I decided it was time for a change in my career path. After six years as a Dynamics 365 Business Central consultant, I made the leap to learning and implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, known back then as Microsoft Dynamics AX (Axapta).
My background in Dynamics 365 Business Central gave me a strong foundation to step into Microsoft’s ERP system for enterprises, which opened entirely new horizons for me. There were difficulties, but the projects now are both exciting and rewarding. Looking back, I know I made the right choice for my career and for myself.
Q: How is your department structured today?
A: After building a strong foundation in Business Central with Isystems, the next step was to take on larger, more complex projects with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. We laid the groundwork for our Finance and Operations department more than a decade ago, and I’m proud to say that it continues to grow steadily nowadays.
Our team is structured into two specialized clusters – Finance and Supply Chain Management. This isn’t just a formal assignment, but a result of years of focused efforts. Our consultants are spread across several countries, working from our physical offices in Sofia, Varna, Athens, Nicosia, Bucharest, Istanbul, Tirana and Brussels.
This structure allows us to be agile, stay close to our clients, and operate effectively in international environments. Just as importantly, it fosters a sense of belonging and collegiality that can be hard to replicate in a fully remote setup.
Q: What does a typical project look like for your team – from the first meeting to go-live?
A: For us, projects begin even before the contract is signed – during the pre-sales stage. Together with our sales team, we analyze the needs, challenges, and goals of our prospective clients. Once we’ve agreed on the framework – scope, planning, and budget – and the contract is in place, we move into execution.
The project goes through several key phases: analysis and design, development and configuration, testing and preparation, and finally – go-live. During the development and configuration stage, we use an agile methodology. Throughout the entire process, we work closely with the client to ensure the solution fully meets its expectations and requirements.
We believe projects should bring satisfaction not only to our clients but also to our team, giving them the chance to learn and grow with every new challenge.
Q: Isystems is opening a new office in Greece. What does this mean for your team and potential candidates?
A: Expanding into Greece is part of our broader strategy to strengthen Isystems’ presence in the region by building a team of highly skilled, motivated professionals. We’re looking for Dynamics Finance and Operations consultants in both Finance and Supply Chain Management who will have the chance to work on exciting, international projects across multiple industries.
Even though the location is new, they’ll be joining a trusted Microsoft Partner with over 20 years in the business and an extremely experienced team. Despite the fact that we operate across different offices, we know how to stay connected and support each other. This results in strong work processes, great coordination, and a welcoming environment for newcomers.
Q: What is the ideal candidate for your Dynamics 365 FO team?
A: For me, the most important thing is the mindset – being eager to learn, committed, motivated, and to believe in the power of teamwork. Of course, we also expect solid experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations – in either Finance or SCM modules. But technical skills are only one piece of the puzzle.
What really makes our team successful is our culture of collaboration, shared responsibility, and the drive for constant growth.
